Weird lighting in basement

Is it me or is there an abundance of these lights in the basement. We decided to not do recess lighting as our realtor said it would be less expensive and easy for us to do on our own. So we ended up with these lights. They should show you pics of what the standard options would look like, so you can make an informed decision...lol...because all those lights like that look crazy to me. My husband said its fine until he switch them to recess. I guess its not the worst, just looks odd with so many, so close together.  See pics below.

Production slowing down...but some work accomplish

Production as went from the speed of lightning to turtle. Nothing much as change in two weeks except the shelving in all the closets are done and comodes are in all bathrooms. The dish washer is in place, but not connected. The oven has been just sitting in the floor, but I went by today and it looks like they just finished the gas line for the stove and plumbing work under the sink. The faucet looks cheap and the sprayer is on the left side, which is wrong. I have never seen a sprayer on the left side of the faucet because most people are right handed. I left a voice message for our PM about it and the hole in the cement in the basement that has water in it and it has been two days and I have not gotten a response. I feel myself getting frustrated and tired of this whole process, so I am trying to hold it together. I move out my current home completely Wednesday since we will have renters moving in Sept. 1. Dealing with our current home and the new home is exhausting.  We have to get a fridgerator and microwave since Ryan did not provide it or so we were told. Never realized it was a "option". At least buying it ourselves we can get what we really want. I am seeing our selections and to be honest, nothing is what I expected. Maybe its just me being tired and frustrated. Please keep me in your prayers.

Counter tops & cabinets are now in 8/14/11

I am feeling like a child waiting for Christmas day to open my presents. The counter tops are beautiful and the cabinets are a little lighter than I expected. However, my husband did decide on the color of cabinets. The master bath is coming along with counter tops and tub installed. I am thinking by Saturday the flooring should be started. I am still working on a renter for my current home, which seems to be taking longer than I expected. We should have listed it for rent sooner than we did. Well, I refuse to stress over it and just trust that God has everything in his hand. My gift to myself will be a serious body message by a seasoned professional that knows how to get all the tension out (lol). I am waiting to exhale.

Dry wall complete! yeah! 8/6/11

I feel like I am about to burst. :) Just got a call from our PM and he said cabinets and painting should take place this week, with flooring and some electrical things done next week. I am thinking I may be done before September 22. Either way, I am ready.

Siding and Insulation done 8/3/2011

Ok...I have gotten over the front door situation and I am in love with my home. We finally have a completion date of  September 22, 2011. Everything is looking great. The pre-drywall inspection passed, except for one thing, which Ryan fixed right away (something with the duct work in the basement). The shower seat was too high, but that is now fixed. My husband met with Mike our PM and he now feels secure with the basement bathroom rough-in and how he can change the door entrance when we are ready to do the bathroom.

Framing done and roof complete! 7/16/11

Ok, Ryan Homes is officially my favorite builders (like I know another...lol). Wow! So much done, so fast. Now the roof is complete, rain should not hold back any progress. It has been pretty dry lately, so weather has been great for us, but not so great for some of the neighboors lawns. :(
I just did my pre-drywall walk-through 7/20/11. My husband is out of town for work so he was on the phone. I am confused by the bathroom rough-in in the basement. We had no idea choosing the rough in meant the bathroom would not be framed. Where the rough-in and door opening is located, we cannot picture how the tub will fit. Our project manager Mike said that choosing the rough-in meant they were not going to do the framing. If they did the framing then they would be required to finish the bathroom. He assured my husband he could explain how the bathroom framing could go to him better in person. Ok...I am finding that sales left out several things. Like I just noticed the over hang roof (not sure what it is called) did not come over the front door, like it did the house the lady from sales showed us. The project manager said once again, that was something we would have chosen during sales. Of course we were never told we could choose our roof elevation, which determined whether the door would have a roof covering. I did ask once what elevation A meant and the sales person made it like no big deal, just our roof pitch. This really bothered me, but what can I do? Its too late now. Apparently the house we were shown had a different elevation. Now my guest will be standing in the rain until I open the door and all the rain comes right in the house...ugh!!! Other than that everything else was exactly as it should be. So I guess I have to get over it at this point. Nothing is !00% perfect and God did bless us with this home.

Framing continues 7/13/11

It has been about a week and already the house is nearly completely framed. A friend of mine asked me if Noah (from Noah's Ark) was building our home (lol). I told her, "Yup, God put that burning bush under his butt." I have never been so excited in my life. I have been waiting so long for this blessing. It took nearly 8 years for my husband to be willing to buy another home. Finally, God stepped in and changed his heart. Our current home is only 988 square feet, 3 bedroom, 1 bath home and we are a family of five. It has been so tight for so long.

Framing begins! 7/9/2011

It seems like everything is moving as scheduled. No rainy weather and framing has begun. This seems so unreal to me.

Cement poured in basement (7/2/11)

Wow! The weather has been great and things are moving along fast. It has been about five days since they started and already the basement has been poured. I can't really picture how its going to look just yet, but my excitement is building. I am stopping by every weekend for pictures so I can really track the progress for our photo alblum. It looks like the basement is going to be huge. It will be a finished garage with two storage rooms. We decided to just have the bathroom rough in, versus having Ryan complete the bathroom to save some money and so my husband and I can have a project of our own in the house.

June 27, 2011 Construction Begins

We are so excited! After waiting for two months, construction finally begins. This is the first time we have built a home and we really don't know what to expect. I am hoping it will be done in time for the kids to start school. The basement is being dugged. Here are few pictures of the progress.
